Softub Spa

Answers to 5 Commonly Asked Questions About Softub Spas

Do you already engage in soothing relaxation or hydrotherapy in your backyard? Or, perhaps you are counting down the days until this becomes your lifestyle! Whether you are considering an innovative, lightweight foam-insulated tub from Softub Spas or you’ve owned one for years, you may have some questions that need to be answered. In this article, we’ll go through some of the most common questions we receive from our customers and potential customers.

1. Does a Softub Spa Have Safety Features?

Our experts have meticulously engineered our Softub Spas to give you the maximum protection. Install your Softub within 10 feet of a three-prong grounded outlet with an isolated power supply of 15 amps and 115 volts. The outlet should be a minimum of five feet away from the spa. Don't connect your spa to an improperly wired circuit or use an extension cord, which could damage the motor.

2. How Much Does it Cost to Operate?

Softub Spas is the most energy-efficient hot tub available. It can be kept at 104 degrees and used for 20 minutes daily for an average cost of $15 per month. The sealed, high-density insulated cover keeps the heat from escaping when the tub is unused. We recommend that your spa be on a dedicated breaker of a minimum of 15 amps.

3. What is the Surround Accessory?

The surround accessory is not required to operate your Softub, but it adds aesthetic appeal and functionality to your spa. The natural surround, made of top-quality incense cedar, adds two additional feet around your spa. The Boca Poly-Rattan surround adds three additional feet around your spa. Surrounds can be purchased with your Softub Spa or at a later date. They will ship separately to your doorstep in pre-drilled parts, with some assembly required.

4. Where Can I Set Up My Softub Spa?

Your Softub Spa can be situated on any smooth surface, such as tile, concrete, wood, brick, or sand. It's best practice to keep your tub away from areas where dirt and debris can be tracked in and where sharp objects are underneath. Be sure to check your local codes for restrictions, such as childproof gates.

5. Are Softub Spas Designed With Built-in Seating?

Softub Spas are designed with barrier-free seating, meaning your entire tub is a seat. Occupants will enjoy unrestricted positioning and freedom of movement, sitting comfortably anywhere in the tub. Our largest two models include a built-in “therapy seat” and Therapy Station™ bench. You can also purchase an accessory water booster seat.
